I’m Jordan Yates, a writer, mental health advocate, and petter of so many cats (not nearly enough, if you ask me).
You can find me on Quora and Medium, writing about everything from life with bipolar II to body image, dating, and the terrifying world of a 20-something. My work has been featured on Huffington Post, Apple News, and The Mighty. And My Country 95.5, which is truly my greatest source of pride.
My passion is talking about mental health. I’ve spoken at a number of events, including the Mental Health Month kickoff at the state capitol in Denver, CO. I’m a trained National Alliance on Mental Illness Ending the Silence speaker and I recently completed Mental Health First Aid training through Mental Health America. Whether in the classroom or on the stage, I’m always excited to keep the discussion on mental health going.
I grew up in Casper, Wyoming and have since made my way down south — just across the state border to Northern Colorado. I live in a cozy little apartment with my cat, Darius (@kingdariusthecat on Instagram). When not posting pictures of my cat online, I work as a copywriter specializing in viral social media content (specifically LinkedIn) and an editor.
Have a question? Want to hire me to talk about mental health or write your LinkedIn statuses? Shoot me an email.
